Utilization of waste glass in cement composites
Gottwaldová, Aneta ; Dufka, Amos (referee) ; Bodnárová, Lenka (advisor)
Bachelor thesis deals with the processing of waste glass in cement composites. Bachelor thesis includes a search theoretical and experimental part. Specifically, it was verified by fluorescent waste glass and glass screen at a dose of 5, 10, 15 and 20 weight % of a batch of cement. Properties of composites were examined after 7, 28, 56 and 90 days. We monitored TG analysis and XRD analysis of cement composites with waste glass.
Preparation and characterization of magnetic nanoparticles modified by surfactants
Solnička, Ondřej ; Másilko, Jiří (referee) ; Enev, Vojtěch (advisor)
Theme of this bachelors thesis was preparation and characterization of iron(II, III) oxide nanoparticles. Those nanoparticles were modified by surfactants. The surfactants which were used for modifiation were CTAB, TTAB and Septonex. Prepared and modified nanoparticles were taken for characterization by using methods of elemental analysis, thermogravimetry, dynamic light scattering and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). Results from each measurement shows that nanoparticles modified by CTAB had on average 85.9 nm in diameter, TTAB size was on average 108.3 nm and the last nanoparticles with Septonex had 246.6 nm in diameter on average. Prepared modified nanoparticles except the Septonex ones were stable enough to not aggregate. Septonex modified nanoparticles had greater tendenty to aggregate.
Effect of freeze-drying conditions on the hydrophobic interaction between native hyaluronan and fluorescent probe
Říha, Karel ; Venerová, Tereza (referee) ; Enev, Vojtěch (advisor)
The biopolymer native hyaluronan possesses the amphiphilic character of its molecule. Which means that it contains both a hydrophilic and a hydrophobic part. This character of the molecule favors interactions between hydrophobic ligands and hydrophobic parts of the chain, making hyaluronan one of the compounds potentially suitable as drug carrier systems. The aim of this bachelor thesis was to prepare a carrier system based on hyaluronan and model hydrophobic compounds (fluorescent probes). The fluorescent probe we used was pyrene. Furthermore, the work was focused on the study of lyophilization conditions, which would lead to the actual influence of hydrophobic interactions between the substances we used. The main techniques that served us to verify the effectiveness of lyophilization (in the sense of supporting the creation of a hydrophobic effect between individual hyaluronan chains) were: thermogravimetric analysis, fluorescence spectrometry, and last but not least, infrared spectroscopy with Fourier transformation.
Optimization of the hardening and drying process of non-cement refractory castables based on colloidal SiO2
Zbíral, Roman ; Koplík, Jan (referee) ; Švec, Jiří (advisor)
Thesis deals with drying and its effect on refractory materials based on materials with zero cement content. Heat-resistant materials prepared by the sol-gel method, i.e., a process where the input raw materials are first formed into a colloidal solution, in our case already prepared by the manufacturer, and then a gel is formed with gelation reagent. This sol must be poured into a mold before gelation processes start and gel mesh formation occur. These materials can have better mechanical properties and better firing possibilities than standard cement materials, and a shorter preparation time. These refractory materials will be examined from the point of view of drying result gel, but also with the effect of subsequent firing and mechanical properties. Samples of sol, aluminate cement, model and real mixture will be analyzed using thermal methods (DSC, TG, DTA and thermal microscope). XRD technique was used to determine content of crystalline phases.

Variabilita markeru TG5 a asociace k obsahu intramuskulárního tuku a marblingu u skotu
Grosová, Hana
The variability of the marker TG5 TG gene and its association with the intramuscular fat and marbling of meat in cattle was studied. Randomly selected population, composed of 237 individuals (bulls) of the Czech Pied cattle breed from four farms in the Czech Republic, waschosen for testing polymorphisms. Polymerase chain reaction was used to amplify a fragment of TG 545 bp in size. After amplification, the fragments digestion was performed using the restriction endonuclease BstYI. To verify the presence of the PCR product and to identify the sizes of digested frag-ments the horizontal agarose electrophoresis was performed. The population's absolute and relative frequencies of alleles and genotypes were calculated. The calculations reve-aled a high frequency of the T allele (25.98 %). In conclusion, statisticalanalysis was performed. As a result, the influence of C422T polymorphism in the 5'promoter region of the gene on the TG and on the IMT marblinghave not been proven, but on the contra-ry there was detected significant effect (p<0.05) of polymorphism content on the region of Lauric acid (C12:0). The results also reveal some evidence of polymorphism having influence on Timnodonic acid and meat pH.
Genetické markery pro kvalitu hovězího masa
Darkwahová, Nicola
Bachelor thesis: Genetic markers for beef quality, focuses on genes associated with traits affecting the beef quality. In the first part of this thesis the intravital factors affecting beef quality. The second part deals with candidate genes affecting the quality of beef. CAPN1 and CAST were for meat tenderness, SCD and FASN for fatty acid composition and TG and LEP for marbling. In the last part of this thesis is summarized the findings of the leptin gene and its association with marbling and intramuscular fat content.
